Nuquí lies on Colombia’s Pacific coast, where dense rainforest meets the ocean. The region offers dramatic landscapes, secluded beaches, and a peaceful atmosphere. Its remote location makes it ideal for travellers looking to experience Colombia away from the main tourist routes.

From June to October, humpback whales arrive in Nuquí’s warm waters. They come from Antarctica to mate and give birth. During the peak season, especially in August, you can often spot them from the shore. Boat trips also offer closer views of these impressive animals.

Nuquí offers many other ways to experience nature. Relax on the secluded shores of Playa Olímpica or explore the region’s mangroves by traditional wooden canoe. You can also travel along the lush Joví River and visit nearby waterfalls.

The Pacific waters offer excellent opportunities for snorkelling and diving. Explore colourful reefs and look for tropical fish and other marine life. Together, the rainforest, rivers, beaches, and ocean make Nuquí a unique destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
